🧠 AI SCHOOL FOR TEACHERS… MICROSOFT + OPENAI HELP LAUNCH NEW TRAINING CENTER: A new school for teachers is opening in New York City — but this one’s all about teaching teachers how to use AI. Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic are teaming up with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) to help 400,000 teachers learn how to use tools like ChatGPT in the classroom.
—> 💬 WHY NOW? Students are already using AI to write papers and solve problems. Teachers need to keep up — and set the rules. AFT president Randi Weingarten says the goal is to help teachers use AI safely and smartly.
—> 🧪 WHAT’S THE PLAN? It’s called the National Academy for AI Instruction. There will be free online courses and workshops, designed by AI experts and teachers. It’s also a way to help teachers earn credit for their training.
—> 🎒 WHO’S INVOLVED? The academy is backed by Microsoft and OpenAI, and it's meant for public school teachers from kindergarten through 12th grade. Eventually, the training will be offered to all 1.8 million AFT members — including college staff and school nurses. As OpenAI said, “If we want everyone to benefit from AI, we have to start in the classroom.”

SPACE
🦸♂️ 🛸 IF SUPERMAN WAS REAL… ASTRONOMERS FOUND A REAL STAR WHERE KRYPTON COULD’VE BEEN. If Superman were real, scientists say they know where his planet, Krypton, might’ve been — and it’s really far. Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson worked with DC Comics to pick a real star called LHS 2520, about 42 light-years away. That means it would’ve taken baby Superman more than 400 years to fly to Earth — unless his spaceship went faster than the speed of light (which breaks the rules of physics).
—> 🔴 THE REAL-LIFE KRYPTON: LHS 2520 is a small, red star. It’s cooler than our sun, but scientists say it could’ve had a planet like Krypton. In the comics, Superman even looks up at it through a telescope. Now fans can look up too.
—> 🛸 420-YEAR SPACE TRIP? IF SUPERMAN’S SHIP CAME WITH THE KRYPTONITE… then it traveled slow. Scientists think Kryptonite rocks from the explosion of Krypton would’ve taken about 420 years to reach Earth. Superman’s ship likely came with them. So if he landed here 33 years ago, that makes him 453 years old.
—> 🧊 MAYBE HE WAS FROZEN: Some stories say Superman’s ship put him in “suspended animation” — like being frozen — so he didn’t age during the trip. That’s why he still looks 30-something.

QUANTUM // ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
⚠️ TERRORISTS ARE USING AI. Jihadist groups like ISIS are now using AI to recruit, spread propaganda, and build weapons — faster, cheaper, and more dangerously than ever before. Counterterrorism officials say the threat is evolving.
—> 🤖 FROM RECRUITMENT TO ATTACK PLANNING: Terrorists are using ChatGPT to write manifestos, create voice-generated propaganda, and share 3D-printed weapon designs.
—> 🖨️ AI + 3D PRINTING = DIY WEAPONS: Terror groups are feeding instructions into chatbots to generate blueprints for remote-controlled vehicles, bombs, and 3D-printed guns — then sharing them in encrypted chats. One account even released a step-by-step AI-generated bomb-making video using household items.
—> 🛑 THIS IS NOT A DRILL: Extremist groups are publishing AI field manuals, using voice modulators to hide identities, and deploying deepfake videos to amplify chaos.

ELON MUSK / SAM ALTMAN
MUSK STARTS A PARTY. ALTMAN DITCHES THE DEMS. A NEW ECONOMIC ERA BEGINS. This July 4th wasn’t just fireworks — it was a full-on reboot of America’s political and economic imagination. Elon Musk launched The America Party to “fight the Uniparty,” slamming both Democrats and Republicans for bankrupting the country. Meanwhile, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman declared himself “politically homeless” — and doubled down on his belief in “techno-capitalism” as the only way forward.
—> 🧠 ALTMAN: BUILD BILLIONAIRE STUFF FOR EVERYONE: “I’m not big on identities, but I am extremely proud to be American,” Altman posted on X. He argued the goal shouldn’t be to eliminate billionaires — it should be to make everyone richer through innovation, capitalism, and abundance. His big idea: raise the floor and the ceiling.
—> 💥 MUSK: THIRD PARTY. FIRST STRIKE. After clashing with Trump over a trillion-dollar tax-and-spend bill, Musk broke ranks — founding The America Party and vowing to restore “freedom” in the face of what he calls a broken two-party system. “Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,” he wrote. Trump? He welcomed it, saying third parties “have always been good for me.”
—> 📉 THE OLD ORDER IS COLLAPSING: The bipartisan economic consensus — free trade, fiscal restraint, tech handouts — is dead. What’s replacing it? MAGA-era economic nationalism, Silicon Valley’s “dark enlightenment,” and left-populist calls to tax the 1% and freeze rent. Even Democrats are split between “abundance agenda” moderates like Gavin Newsom and democratic socialists like Zohran Mamdani.
—> 🚀 A NEW PLAYBOOK FOR THE FUTURE: Altman and Musk don’t agree on everything, but they’re both betting that science, technology, and entrepreneurship are what will define America’s next 250 years. The center didn’t hold — now this is the reaction.

ROBOTS
🛩️🤖 THE ARMY BUILT ROBOT COYOTES TO GUARD FIGHTER JETS. Sounds fake. It’s not. The U.S. military just deployed robotic coyotes on wheels to protect multi-million dollar aircraft from birds — yes, birds.
—> 🐺 THE COYOTE ROVERS ARE HERE: These four-wheeled bots wear life-size coyote costumes and zoom up to 20 mph to scare off birds from airfields. They're fully autonomous, patrol on timers, and recharge on their own. Price tag? Just $2,500–$3,000.
—> 🧠 NEXT UP: AI-POWERED SPECIES ID: Future versions could learn to detect different animals and tailor scare tactics for each. Think: facial recognition for geese. The Army's even testing them near helicopters and runways.
—> 💡 WHY IT MATTERS: Bird strikes can kill pilots and destroy planes. The military already uses hawk-handlers, radars, and even GPS-tracked prairie dogs. These bots could cut runway maintenance costs by pushing back mowing — and maybe one day, patrol remote bases or hover over lakes to scare off wildlife.

ONE MORE THING
🌍💨 BREAKING: THE WORLD IS SPINNING FASTER — LITERALLY. Earth’s rotation is speeding up — and it’s making our days shorter. Scientists say three days this summer will be some of the shortest ever recorded. On July 9, July 22, and August 5, each day will be about 1.5 milliseconds shorter than usual.
—> 🧠 WHAT’S HAPPENING? Think of Earth like a spinning top. The Moon’s gravity usually slows us down. But this summer, because of how the Moon is lined up with Earth’s poles, the spin gets a tiny boost — shaving milliseconds off the day.
—> ⏳ HAS THIS HAPPENED BEFORE? Yep — but it’s rare. In 2024, we had the shortest day ever recorded, and scientists still aren’t totally sure why. Some think something inside the Earth might be speeding us up.
—> 🧊 CLIMATE + HUMANS MAY BE INVOLVED TOO: Melting ice, groundwater loss, even big earthquakes can change how Earth spins. NASA found that shifting mass on the planet (like melting glaciers) can actually change the length of a day over time.
—> 🧪 DOES THIS MATTER? Not day-to-day. You won’t feel it. But if Earth keeps spinning faster, scientists might need to do something they’ve never done before: add a “negative leap second” to our clocks — basically deleting time to stay synced.
—> 🌀 BONUS FACT: A billion years ago, a day on Earth was only 19 hours long. The Moon was closer, and Earth spun faster. History repeats?
