🦖 JURASSIC WORLD DOMINATES BOX OFFICE — AND THE SCIENCE ISN’T AS FAR OFF AS YOU THINK. Jurassic World Rebirth just stomped its way to $318M at the global box office — but here’s the real plot twist: the idea of bringing back extinct species? Not just Hollywood fantasy. From woolly mammoths to dodos to dire wolves, scientists are already working on it.
—> 🧬 THE SCIENCE IS REAL: Companies like Colossal Biosciences have used ancient DNA to “revive” species like the dire wolf. They’re now editing elephant genes to recreate cold-resistant mammoths. And no, you’re not dreaming — scientists are even trying to reverse-engineer chickens to give them dinosaur traits. (Chickenosaurus, meet your public.)
—> 🐶 YES, EVEN PARIS HILTON IS IN ON IT: After losing her dog Diamond Baby, Paris Hilton cloned her. Twice. The twin pups — made from stem cells — now cuddle, walk, and act like little duplicates. As Paris put it: “They can take a dog’s cells and make your same exact dog.” It’s weird. It’s real. It’s the future.
—> ⚖️ WHY YOU CARE: THE LAW ISN’T READY: Gene editing is moving faster than the law can handle. Policymakers say more work is needed on how to modernize the Endangered Species Act… which technically already covers de-extinction tech — but we need new rules for when, why, and if we should bring lost species back.
—> 🎥 THE SCIENCE ADVISOR TO JURASSIC WORLD SAYS: “I’d react the same way as the characters in the movie — overwhelmed with awe.” Steve Brusatte, the paleontologist behind the film, told Live Science the line between fiction and future is getting thinner.
—> 🧨 WE'RE NOT BRINGING BACK T. REX TOMORROW — BUT WE ARE TESTING THE BOUNDARIES OF LIFE ITSELF.

SPACE
🪐 ASTRONAUTS TO MARS COULD FIND… A FOSSILIZED ALIEN CIVILIZATION?
Jurassic World may be ruling the box office, but real-life scientists say the next great discovery might not be dinosaurs — it might be aliens. According to astrobiologist Prof. Chandra Wickramasinghe, future Mars missions could uncover fossilized remains of intelligent alien life.
—> 🧬 “I DON’T RULE OUT INTELLIGENT LIFE,” he told The Scottish Sun. Mars may have once been a green, living planet — before an asteroid wipeout turned it into the dusty red rock we know today. He believes astronauts could find remnants of life… and maybe even ancient artifacts.
—> 🦠 FORMER NASA SCIENTISTS BACKS THIS UP: In 1976, NASA scientist Gilbert Levin claimed the Viking lander detected life in Martian soil. NASA walked it back. He never did. Wickramasinghe calls it “unquestionably” the most solid proof we’ve had — and says it was buried for political reasons.
—> 🏛️ IMAGINE MARS AS A MUSEUM: Wickramasinghe and others think the planet may hold preserved microbial fossils — or more — beneath the surface. And with NASA aiming to land humans there in the 2030s, we may not have to imagine much longer.
—> 🚀 THE BOTTOM LINE: We’re heading to Mars. And when we get there, it might not just be a rock. It might be a tomb. Or a time capsule. Or a warning.

QUANTUM // ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
SIGN OF THE TIMES, via The Atlantic: Nobody Cares If Music Is Real Anymore.
🎸 AI BAND CATFISHES ROLLING STONE: The Velvet Sundown — a moody psych-rock “group” with over 1M monthly Spotify listeners — just admitted what everyone guessed: they’re not a band. They’re a bot. And the kicker? Rolling Stone interviewed a fake human spokesman who doesn’t exist.
—> 🤖🎵 THE BAND ISN’T REAL. NEITHER WAS THE SPOKESMAN. A troll using the name Andrew Frelon duped Rolling Stone and others by pretending to represent the band — even giving a full phone interview. He later confessed on Medium: “I wanted to test the media. It worked.”
—> 📈 HOW DID IT BLOW UP? Spotify’s algorithm doesn’t care if a band exists — only if the sound works. Velvet Sundown paid their way onto top playlists, gamed the algo, and built a fanbase with nothing but code and vibes. “Not quite human. Not quite machine,” their bio now says. “We live somewhere in between.”
—> 🧠 WHY IT MATTERS: If a fake band can top charts, and a fake person can fool journalists, what else are we listening to that isn’t real? AI didn’t just make the music — it made the myth.
—> THIS ISN’T NEW — THE BEATLES WON A GRAMMY WITH AI: In 2024, Now and Then — a Beatles track resurrected with the help of AI — took home a Grammy. Lennon’s voice, lifted from an old demo. The band filled in the rest. Even legends are getting algorithmic.

GEOPOLITCS // ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
🪖 ARMY GOES FULL AI: The U.S. Army is creating a brand-new job just for artificial intelligence soldiers. It's called 49B — the first AI-specific military role — and it's just the beginning. Enlisted troops, warrant officers, and even full-blown commanders could soon have AI career tracks. Welcome to the algorithm wars.
—> 🤖 WHAT’S A 49B? A next-gen soldier trained in artificial intelligence and machine learning. These aren’t code monkeys in uniform — they’ll be embedded across units, training models, deploying battlefield bots, and shaping missions in real time. One memo calls it “the needed agility” for modern war.
—> 🛰️ BIG PICTURE: The Pentagon’s 2026 tech budget is massive — $179B+ in R&D, with over $2.2B locked for AI and autonomy. Drones, decision engines, robots, space sensors — it’s all going live. The future fight won’t just be boots on the ground. It’ll be bots in the sky and code in the dirt.
—> 🚀 SPACE + QUANTUM + AI = POWER STACK: The Space Force is dropping $29B to harden satellite comms, build missile tracking nets in orbit, and prototype new tech. Quantum sensors and AI-guided data are baked in. AI isn’t a tool anymore — it’s the operating system.
—> 🔧 PROTOTYPE TO DEPLOYMENT: It’s not theory. AI is now embedded in real systems — from hypersonic missiles to underwater drones. Army budget docs show AI in targeting, navigation, battlefield management, and cybersecurity. Translation: this is happening now.
—> ⚠️ WHY IT MATTERS: This isn’t just modernization — the Army is betting the future of war on AI, and building the ranks to fight it. Whether you’re in a uniform or in the Valley, the next great arms race isn’t about bombs. It’s about brains and tech.

ROBOTS
🌾 FARMER BOTS: WEEDS, BEWARE! Not since the invention of the weed whacker have weeds had it this bad. Now, robot farmers are on the loose — zipping through fields, spotting weeds with cameras, and slicing them up with tiny blades. No chemicals. No tractors. Just sun-powered weed assassins.
—> 🤖 WHOA, WHAT ARE THESE THINGS? They’re called Element — big solar-powered tables on wheels. They work all day, sleep at night, and never get tired. Built by smart folks who used to work at Tesla, these bots use AI to tell weeds from crops... then chop-chop, the weeds are gone.
—> 🎒 FREE ROBOTS FOR FARMS?! Yup. In Washington State, there’s now a robot library for farms. Farmers can borrow bots that mow, carry heavy stuff, and even feed baby cows. One robot helped save 75% of a farm’s water. Another one delivered milk like a robo-waiter for calves.
—> 💡 WHY YOU CARE: Weeds are tough. Farm work is hard. Chemicals are gross. Especially when the chemicals get in the crops. But these solar powered bots make everything cleaner, faster, and way more fun. And farmers love it — especially young ones who want to stay on the land but skip the backaches.

ONE MORE THING
🧠 STUDY: NEGATIVE NEWS IS MESSING WITH YOUR MIND. A major new study out of Australia and California confirms it: consuming too much bad news can cause anxiety, poor sleep, and trauma-like symptoms — even if the events didn’t happen to you. It’s called vicarious trauma — and it’s real.
—> 📊 THE SCIENCE: People exposed to high levels of negative news report higher stress, trouble focusing, and more extreme emotions. Graphic images make it worse. The study warns: doomscrolling, binge-watching cable news, and checking headlines on autopilot can seriously mess with your mental health.
—> 🧘🏽♂️ THE FIX? Mindful engagement. Researchers say it’s not about quitting the news — it’s about how you engage. Tune in with intention. Notice how your body reacts. Take breaks. Reflect. Quality over quantity.
—> 📺 WHY AREN’T WE TALKING ABOUT CABLE NEWS MENTAL HEALTH CORRUPTION? Everyone rightfully scrutinizes algorithms and TikTok, but cable news execs profit off fear just as much and are negatively impacting Americans mental health. These old media executives feed you 24/7 outrage and call it “being informed.” Trust me, I know. They want you panicked. It keeps you watching.
—> ⚠️ WHY IT MATTERS: News helps us stay informed. But if we don’t rethink how we consume it, it can break us down. The brain treats bad news like a threat. And the media — especially cable — profits from keeping us in fight-or-flight.
