๐ค IS YOUR JOB SAFE FROM AI? A major new study from OpenAI + Microsoft just dropped. They analyzed millions of real Copilot chats to figure out where AI is already helping โ and where itโs headed next.
โ> ๐ง WRITING JOBS ARE CHANGING โ NOT DISAPPEARING. Yes, AI can write emails, reports, even jokes. But the humans are still deciding what matters. You need emotional intelligence. Cultural context. A gut check. The winners? Writers who use AI to move faster โ not get replaced.
โ> ๐จ CREATIVES ARE SAFE โ IF THEY STAY HUMAN. AI can generate outlines and images. But the stories that hit hardest โ the real ones, the weird ones, the human ones โ still come from people. Memoirs, screenplays, branding? That's soul work. AI speeds it up, but youโre the engine.
โ> ๐ WHOโS MOST AFFECTED: CLERKS, TEACHERS, ADMIN. Editing documents. Summarizing info. Customer support. These tasks are already getting AI help. Clerks, sales reps, managers, teachers โ Copilot is pitching in. But even then, a person hits send.
โ> ๐
WHOโS LESS AFFECTED: COOKS, MECHANICS, CARE WORKERS.
Jobs that require hands-on skill or real care โ like food service, construction, or therapy โ are still out of reach. Physical work isnโt being replaced by a chatbot anytime soon.
๐ CONSIDER THIS:
โATMs automated bank tellers. But banks hired more tellers โ to open more branches and build relationships. Not just process deposits.โ
๐ง Three more of my takeaways:
โJobs that involve coaching, counseling, and caring show much lower AI applicability.โ Translation: Empathy and connection canโt be automated.
โThe biggest impacts are on communication, research, and writing โ not decision making or physical labor.โ Translation: AI drafts. You decide.
โAI works best when the stakes are low. Human judgment still rules.โ Translation: The higher the stakes, the more we need you.

SPACE
๐ NASA WANTS TO BUILD INTERNET FOR THE MOON AND MARS: NASA just put out a call for help โ asking tech companies to pitch plans for building a communications + GPS-style network across Earth, the Moon, and Mars. Itโs the first step in creating a solar system internet that could support future missions, moon bases, and maybe even cities on Mars. The system would help astronauts (and robots!) stay connected as they explore.
โ> ๐ก HOW IT WORKS: SPACE LASERS: This comes just days after NASA and the European Space Agency pulled off something wild: they used lasers to talk to a spaceship 165 million miles away. A ground station in Greece shot a beam at NASAโs Psyche spacecraft โ and it sent a signal back using just a few photons of light. Last year, the same system was used to beam a cat video from space. Yes, really. The orange tabbyโs name was Taters.
โ> ๐ถ WHY YOU CARE: Space missions send back huge amounts of data โ video, maps, science findings โ but radio signals are slow. Laser internet could be 100x faster, helping NASA explore farther, faster. Now, with this new call for proposals, NASA is moving toward building the full system: space Wi-Fi that covers the Moon and Mars.

QUANTUM // ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
๐ค AMERICAโS AI ARSENAL GETS AN UPGRADE: The Pentagon just signed deals with Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI โ up to $200 million each โ to bring more artificial intelligence into government systems. These tools wonโt just help with defense. They'll also power smarter decision-making, improve how agencies run, and speed up national security work.
โ> ๐ WHY THIS MATTERS: The U.S. is in a global race to lead in AI. While China, the UAE, and others are rolling out their own tech, this move shows the U.S. is staying ahead โ and doing it with homegrown innovation. Companies like OpenAI and Anthropic started in American labs. Now theyโre helping the government build next-gen tools.
โ> ๐ BIG TECH GOES FEDERAL: Google Cloud just got approved for top-secret use. xAI launched a new tool called Grok for Government. OpenAI and Anthropic are opening up special teams just for government work. The goal? Use the best tools out there โ safely and responsibly โ to help agencies do their jobs better and faster.

THINGAMABOBS
๐ฑ FOLDABLE iPHONE COMING 2026? Appleโs first-ever foldable iPhone is officially in the pipeline โ and it might cost just $1,800. The company is aiming for a 2026 release, with supply chain sources confirming the โiPhone Foldโ will feature a crease-free screen (unlike Samsungโs) and a book-style design with a titanium case and next-gen hinge tech.
โ> ๐ WHATโS NEW: Apple is working with Samsung Display and Fine M-Tec to build a custom โinvisible creaseโ screen using metal plates to control the fold. Itโs expected to have a 7.8-inch screen when open, 5.5-inch outer screen, dual rear cameras, and a Touch ID power button โ not Face ID.
โ> ๐ WHY IT MATTERS: The foldable phone market has been stuck in neutral. But Appleโs entry could be the spark the category needs. Experts say it could reignite interest in foldables across phones, tablets, and even laptops. Early production targets are 10โ15M units. UBS thinks Appleโs discipline will allow it to keep margins high โ and prices (relatively) low.
โ>๐ก THE BIG PICTURE: Foldables use a ton of advanced components โ from bendable glass to precision hinges. That means Appleโs move lifts up its whole supply chain, including companies like Amphenol, Foxconn, LG Display, and Hon Hai. Itโs not just a new productโฆ itโs a new tech wave.

REAL ESTATE
๐ THE MOON IS THE NEXT REAL ESTATE BOOM: Move over Miami. The new hot market? The Moon. Investors are betting big on space. Theyโre building data centers in orbit and even on the Moon to power the next wave of space internet, AI tools, and deep space exploration.
โ> ๐๏ธ WHY NOW? As NASA and companies like SpaceX push toward the Moon and Mars, theyโll need more than rockets. Theyโll need buildings. Thatโs where real estate firms like Hines and Ethos come in. Theyโre snapping up warehouses near launch sites on Earth โ and planning how to build roads, landing pads, and data centers up there too. Some are even making cement from moon dust.
โ> ๐ต WHERE THE MONEYโS GOING: This isnโt sci-fi. Investors see it like the railroad boom: new infrastructure means new profits. Venture capital, family offices, and global real estate firms are already spending big on โspace-supportโ properties. Hines just bought a 250,000 sq. ft. warehouse fully leased to aerospace companies in Floridaโs Space Coast. And thatโs just the start.
โ> ๐ก WHY YOU CARE: NASA is planning an internet for the Moon and Mars. And to power that? Data centers. Earthโs already running out of space โ and power. But in space, you get free solar energy, natural cooling from the vacuum, and no land limits. The space economy is opening a brand-new marketโฆ and the land rush has already begun.

ONE MORE THING
๐ง CHATGPT IS CHANGING HOW WE TALK: Not a metaphor. A new study finds that humans are starting to speak more like ChatGPT โ literally. Researchers ran a linguistic scan across 360,000 YouTube videos and 770,000 podcast episodes and found a weird pattern: words like delve, underscore, boast, and meticulous are suddenly everywhere. They call them โGPT words.โ
โ> ๐ THE AI FEEDBACK LOOP IS REAL: Researchers took millions of emails, essays, and articles โ ran them through ChatGPT for "polishing" โ and tracked which words showed up most. Then they watched as those words leaked back into everyday speech. Itโs a cultural loop: we treat AI like itโs smart, so we start copying its voice.
โ> ๐ค WHY THIS MATTERS: This isnโt about just writing better emails. Itโs about machine-shaped language shaping us back. The studyโs authors say ChatGPT isnโt just reflecting human culture โ itโs starting to rewrite it. As one put it: โDelve is only the tip of the iceberg.โ What happens when the dominant tone of human speech becomes... machine-generated?
With gratitude,
Kev
