It’s like realizing your hometown isn’t part of your state… it’s part of a whole other continent. If this checks out, it could shake up the way scientists understand the entire Universe.

We already knew galaxies bunch up into clusters, which join into superclusters. But new data shows they flow together in huge “basins of attraction” — like rivers of galaxies being pulled across space. Using data from 56,000 galaxies, scientists mapped our local universe and found we might actually belong to a different mega-structure than we thought.
