QUANTUM // ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
IS QUANTUM COMPUTING THE NEW Y2K? šš§© For years, cybersecurity experts have warned about a Y2K-style reckoning, but this time itās not about a date glitchāitās about quantum computing breaking encryption as we know it. With quantum processors advancing faster than expected, traditional security systems could be obsolete overnight.
ā> MICROSOFT'S BIG LEAP ā” Microsoft just unveiled Majorana 1, the worldās first Quantum Processing Unit (QPU). This beast has the potential to crunch data at speeds that make todayās supercomputers look like pocket calculatorsāraising serious concerns for encryption and digital security.
ā> PASSWORDS? DEAD. šš« Cybersecurity pros say the 60-year-old password is a relic. The future? Passkeys, biometric verification, and quantum-resistant encryption. The race is on to build cryptoagile systems that can withstand the quantum era.
ā> Y2Q: A SLOW-MOTION CRISIS? ā³ Some experts say the quantum threat wonāt be a sudden doomsday event, but rather a gradual shiftāone thatās already happening. Companies are being urged to ditch outdated security models, prep for evolving encryption standards, and stay nimble.
ā> MEET THE FUTURE š® Quantum computing wonāt just change cybersecurityāitāll reshape AI, finance, and entire industries. The question isnāt if encryption will break, but when. The key to survival? Adapt fastāor risk getting left behind.

FUTURES
MARKETS PLUNGE AS TARIFF TURMOIL CONTINUES š Wall Streetās rollercoaster ride took another dive Thursday as uncertainty over Trumpās tariffs rattled investors. The S&P 500 dropped 1.8%, the Dow fell 427 points (-1%), and the Nasdaq cratered 2.6%, officially down 10% from its December peakāmarking correction territory.
ā> WHY IT HAPPENED: Trump gave a one-month break on some 25% tariffs for Mexico and Canada, but unlike the automaker exemption that boosted stocks earlier this week, investors arenāt buying it this time. The fear? A full-blown trade war that tanks the economy. šØ
ā> TECH & GROWTH STOCKS HIT HARD: The Nasdaqās biggest drop in weeks signals that tech investors are bracing for impact. Rate hikes, inflation concerns, and global trade tensions are all weighing on the market. Is this just a blipāor the start of something bigger?
ā> WHATāS NEXT? Wall Street is desperate for clarity, but as long as tariffs remain a negotiation weapon, expect more market whiplash ahead. Buckle up. š¢
CRYPTO
BITCOIN GOES STATEWIDE: TEXAS, NEW HAMPSHIRE PUSH PUBLIC CRYPTO INVESTMENTS šļøš° States are following Trumpās lead on Bitcoin reserves, with Texas and New Hampshire advancing bills to invest public funds in crypto. Utah is one vote away from doing the sameābut with the legislative session ending this week, time is running out.
ā> WHATāS HAPPENING? Texas just passed SB 21, allowing state investments in Bitcoin. New Hampshireās House Bill 302 cleared a key committee with a 16-1 vote, aiming to allocate 5% of public funds to Bitcoin and precious metals.
ā> THE BIGGER PICTURE: Trumpās plan for a federal crypto reserve has divided the industry, with some arguing Bitcoin is the only true digital goldāand that other cryptos shouldnāt be in the mix. But with states now making moves, the push for Bitcoin as a reserve asset is heating up. š„
ā> WHAT YOU CARE: Utahās crypto bill hangs in the balance, and more states could jump on board. If these efforts succeed, government-backed Bitcoin reserves could become a reality sooner than expected. š

SPACE
SPACE FORCE GOES ALL IN ON SPACE SUPERIORITY š The U.S. Space Force isnāt here to play defenseāitās here to dominate the final frontier. Speaking at the 2025 Air and Space Forces Association Warfare Symposium, Gen. Chance Saltzman made it clear: "Space superiority is our mission."
ā> TRAINING FOR A WAR THAT HASNāT HAPPENED (YET) ā”Thereās never been a war in space (so far), which means no combat-experienced guardians. But Saltzman isnāt waiting around. Readiness is the top priority, and every guardianāno matter their roleāhas to level up.
ā> MEET THE FUTURE š The Space Force isnāt just another branch of the militaryāitās setting the stage for the next era of global power struggles. Saltzmanās message? The time for space dominance is nowāand every guardian has a role to play.

ONE MORE THING
ROBOTS ARE RUNNING A HALF MARATHON IN CHINAāAND SO AM I š¤šāāļø
In Beijing, humanoid robots are set to compete in a half marathon this April, running their own special track, swapping batteries mid-race, and getting penalized for breakdowns. Meanwhile, Iāll be running a half marathon this weekend with no battery swaps and only self-loathing to keep me going.
ā> CAN THEY BEAT ME? ā” These bots get 3 hours and 30 minutes to finish. They can even tag in replacements like some kind of mechanical relay team. Me? I get water stations, my own two feet, and the crushing weight of my personal expectations.
ā> HIGH-STAKES ROBOT RACING š The fastest bots will take home 5,000 yuan (~$700) and bragging rights. No word yet on whether theyāll gloat over humans at the finish line, but letās be honestāthe first robot that runs a sub-2-hour marathon is getting a Nike sponsorship.
ā> MEET THE FUTURE 𤯠Chinaās humanoid robot market is set to explode to $10 billion by 2029, proving that while weāre out here training for races, machines are literally learning to outrun us. If they ever figure out how to complain about sore knees, weāre done for.
